Sept. 29th - Fall Leaf Report

Today's travels focused on the region between Linville Falls and Little Switzerland, Mileposts 316 and 334. It's a gorgeous day, perfect weather for a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway.  This image was taken around Milepost 324, opening to views of Table Rock and Hawk's Bill.

Trees are slowly changing, you can see them in the distance.  The Parkway is lined with Sumac and Dogwoods, beginning to show their red colors.  Some Poplars have come and gone, but other varieties are slowly turning. Visit our Facebook page for videos and more images.

The "leaf forecasters" seem to be on track!  Our upper elevations (Linville and Little Switzerland) should reach peak around the second weekend in October, followed by lower elevations around the third and fourth weekends.  We'll keep you posted!  Any time is a good time to visit the Blue Ridge Mountains!
