Today, North Carolina Governor Cooper extended Phase II restrictions and ordered the public to wear masks/face coverings in public spaces. This means any person over age 11 must follow the mandatory order, continue practicing social distancing guidelines, and be mindful of your surroundings in small, public areas. U.S. Forest Service Trails, trails along the Blue Ridge Parkway, and N.C. State Park Trails remain open. The majority of visitor centers and restrooms operated by federal and state facilities remain closed. Before heading out, make plans, check Google maps for restrooms in the area you're visiting, and remember to pack out everything you brought with you.
