November, it's an interesting month! This year, our leaf season has extended into November. The lower elevations continue to see daily changes, with pops of reds and oranges. Along the Blue Ridge Parkway, you'll continue to find a mix of colors when you stop at overlooks with views of the south facing mountains. Those colors are still changing!
As we move closer to "the holidays" you'll find an interesting variety of events. Marion's Day of the Dead celebration is Saturday, November 3rd, followed by the opening of the Blue Ridge Artisans Show and Sale at McDowell Arts Council, the Marion Christmas Parade on November 18th, and December 1st is host to the Annual Appalachian Potters Market inside the McDowell High School Gymnasium. Check our calendar for details on these and other events!
Last, we typically experience mild winters. November and December are perfect times for a mountain hike or to explore a waterfall trail. Stop by our office to pick up maps, or call to receive maps, guides and more. 888-233-6111Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
