The first fall leaf report of 2017 reveals there are PLENTY of leaves on our trees, following Hurricane Irma. We are grateful! Today's road trip focused on the DiamondbackNC/aka NC Hwy. 226-A, with stops at the Alpine Inn and downtown Little Switzerland.
There IS a little change in some of the tree varieties. Poplar, Dogwood and Sycamore are beginning to turn, in some areas. As you'll see in my photographs, green is today's dominant mountain color.
The Blue Ridge Parkway was closed south of Milepost 331, I drove north to the Orchard at Altapass, stopping at two overlooks. This image taken of Table Rock Mountain and another of the Clinchfield Loop sign, just above the Orchard at Milepost 328.3. The Parkway is open north of Milepost 331 and into Virginia.
Visit our Blue Travelers' Facebook page to see all of the photographs! I'll post again next Friday. Have a great weekend!Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
